Luxemi is thrilled to be supporting South Asian Young Women Entrepreneurs (SAY WE) at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week this year at FASHION FOR COMPASSION: An Evening of Runway and Heart.
SAY WE is a non-profit trade association whose mission is to cultivate strong relationships among South Asian women in New York who have entrepreneurial interests.
When SAY WE discovered that none of the incredibly talented South Asian women designers were being represented at this year’s fashion week, they decided to do something about it!
The spectacular event will take place on September 12th at the Ritz Carlton NYC in Battery Park, and will honor iconic accessories designer Ranjana Khan.
Fashion for Compassion will celebrate South Asian women in fashion with a runway feature presentation of Luxemi favorites such as Ranjana Khan, Pria Kataaria Puri, Amrita Singh, Atleier AZZA and Rani Emaans.
Model Priya Sachdev and Actress/Model Lara Datta will be walking the runway, and from what we can tell, the celeb attendance won’t stop there! We’re looking forward to being inspired by the amazing artistry and bringing it to you via the Luxe Report.
We’re not just excited about this event because of the glitz and glamour, but because we truly believe in SAY WE’s mission to unite South Asian women entrepreneurs (like us!), and their ability to encourage and inspire future generations of ambitious young women.
Proceeds from this event will support NY-based charity WISHWAS, which runs programs to empower South Asian women immigrants to parlay their skills into small businesses, with vocational training and micro-financing. Luxemi will be donating a designer outfit to the silent auction in support of the charity.
