Wendell Rodricks – The King Of Collaboration

Wendell Rodricks

Hailed one of India’s top 10 designers, Wendell Rodricks is a fixture on the Indian fashion design scene. Season after season, he showcases his creativity by blurring the boundaries between East and West in the most delicious way. So it’s no surprise that Wendell has taken his playful eye and used it to infuse some life into more utilitarian products. From collaborations with Bombay Dyeing to create a line of signature bed linens to designing uniforms for Goa’s local policemen (his hometown and creative base), Rodricks is no stranger to pushing the design envelope. Two of his most recent design collaborations have definitely caught our attention: packaging for Polo Mints and water bottles for Himalayan Natural Mineral Water.

Wendell Rodricks for Polo Mints

Taking Polo where it has never been before, Rodricks designed the packaging for four new flavors: Lime Mojito, Cocoa Mocha, Peach Schnapps and Watermelon Sorbet. These new flavors coupled with Rodricks designs aim to elevate Polo’s brand by appealing to today’s fashion-conscious youth.

We were invited to preview Wendell Rodricks’ Lakme Fashion Week collection where he introduced us to a limited edition Himalayan Natural Mineral Water bottle he designed. Himalayan turned to Rodricks, much like Polo, to up its fashion appeal. Wendell Rodricks explained, “I am delighted to partner with Himalayan Natural Mineral Water for LFW this season. My collection is a pure inspiration from the Himalayan range and mountain water, completely in sync with the brand philosophy of Himalayan. I have gone even more minimalistic in the designs this time. Extremely austere and pure, the collection is a perfect reflection of Himalayan and Wendell Rodricks.”

From police uniforms to water bottles, Rodricks’ is leaving his fashion imprint across multiple industries. We’re excited to see what Rodricks comes up with next.
